Bearing series 302 Tapered roller bearings have tapered inner and outer ring raceways between which tapered rollers are arranged. The projection lines of all the tapered surfaces meet at a common point on the bearing axis. Tapered roller bearings are therefore particularly suitable for absorbing combined loads (radial and axial at the same time). Because of their internal design, single row tapered roller bearings cannot be used alone, but only together with a second bearing (figure 1) or as paired bearings (figure 2). Tapered roller bearings are generally not self-retaining. The inner ring with the rollers and cage can be installed separately from the outer ring.
